Hollywood actor Mr. Richard Gere found his way to the residence of Padma Shri. Dr. M. Mohan Babu on the latter's invitation on Sunday morning.. Gere was in Hyderabad as part of his Heroes Project for AIDS Awareness – an effective campaign against the killer disease. Heroes Vishnu Vardhan Babu and Manoj Kumar were with their father to receive Gere, who later held discussions with them seeking their active participation in the AIDS awareness project.

Gere maintained that he sought the help of Mohan Babu, president of the Movie Artistes Association. He further said he felt happy to spend some time with Padma Shri. Dr MB and thanked him for his spontaneous gesture, extending support to the global cause.

After exchanging pleasantries, Gere watched movie clips of Padma Shri. Dr. MB , including his blockbusters – Pedaraayudu, Major Chandrakanth, and Assembly Rowdy. On this occasion, Gere had all praise forPadma Shri. Dr. MB for his extraordinary prowess on the screen, coupled with his fine-looking appearance. Both the actors took time to dwell into the aspects of production values in Hollywood and Indian films.

Hero Vishnu said that he was much impressed with the guidelines over AIDS fight proposed by Gere. Expressing grave concern at the spiraling trend in AIDS spread, the young actor said he would work for at least three days in a month for taking the campaign against AIDS and wider reach of the message at all levels.

Interestingly, Gere personally welcomed Padma Shri. Dr. MB and family to visit Hollywood . He also had a special talk with Vishnu, who took his internship in film acting in LA, before his full-fledged entry into Tollywood in 2003.
